The main genre for this film would be romance and drama. This is because both have elements of plot twist and sentimental moments.

Million Dollar Baby
From the film poster i can determine that the protagonist is a woman because she is takes up most of the poster to suggest the whole film is based on her journey. The other two make characters on the film poster suggests that they play a part in the story this means that they could either help her or become antagonists. The black and white colouring used on the post suggest the raw and centred image of the protagonist this connotes that the audience will get a feel of real emotions and change. The story line could be about the protagonist liking a sport this is because she looks fit and is wearing a sports bra. The sport she has seen herself doing as a career isn't supported probably because of her gender or class and this causes problems but the potential helpers which is seen behind the main character could be there to support her aspirations or challenge but she doesn't give up.
The hybrid genre for this film would be drama and sport/action. This is because from the iconography on the film poster it appears to have elements of drama and action because something in the film i.e problems with money might have her doing something dangerous to get money for her training.
The target audience for this film would be young women from the ages of 16 to 23 who identify themselves with the main protagonist or have experienced discrimination for their gender. The class that most likely watch would middle class this is because sometimes adolescents(male, female or whatever you identify as) find it hard to achieve their goals when their constantly judged or its deemed to be unattainable.
