Cinematography video feedback/learner response

1) Type up your feedback/comments from your teacher. WWW ; the music and still images match, good use of smooth panning, the point of view shot was well presented in the video. The use of editing added to each frame is done well. EBI ; the use of still frames needed to be less close. Some camera shits weren't still as in your hands were shaking which resulted in the frame being distorted. Next time use a tripod whilst filming. 2) Type up your feedback from fellow students. Student one; WWW; really good range of shots and panning. The lightning stayed consistent. EBI; the video needed to be longer as it was only 48 seconds. Student two; WWW; the use of editing was clear and made the video more appealing as it fitted with the music. EBI; there wasn't a clear narrative which next time needed to be established. Student three WWW; good use of establishing shots and close ups. EBI; would've been better if you have a consistent narrative and less shaky shots.

1) Write an analysis of the cinematography in the opening sequence.  Highlight your use of media language and try to cover camera shots, angles and movement using the terminology we have learned in lessons. In the middle scene for the shinning contains various panning movements as captures the creepy essence of the scene. The use of medium close up that pans from the characters back and fourth whilst they exchange dialogue is well ocstrated as which each sudden pan between Wendy and Jack makes Jack ( the villain ) look superior and Wendy inferior which captures the scene well. There are quick point of view shots which could convey that we as an audience must side with the victim but it's also trying to humanize Jack to an extent. This is because the smooth panns could suggest it will end the process by a clean murdered ending.  2) How does the camerawork give the audience clues about the setting, narrative and character? The camerawork gives off the clues that this

Sound analysis: blog tasks

2) Find a film clip on YouTube that uses sound in an interesting way. Analyse the use of sound, making sure you use the key language we have learned about sound in film: Diegetic and non-diegetic sound Parallel and contrapuntal sound Sound bridges The breakfast club ~ 1985. The use of sound used in this trailer contains diegetic sound at the start of the trailer was said by the principal in the film Paul Gleason then it fades into non~diegetic sound that only we can hear and a voice over stating the stock characters played in the film. This trailer doesn't contain a sound bridge but the sound played behind the voice-over is of an electric guitar and is has its solo and is at high speed in some scenes. The dialogue is exchanges between characters throughout the trailer which suggests the bond that'll create and how the stock characters will form an alliance which will connect with as an audience . There are a few sound effects   as the genre of the film

Cinematography: Practical task

In my cinematography work i used a variety of shots from our trip to Hay-market cinema. I used variety of shots from a variety of people. The idea behind my work is based around the city and how the shots of city represent the people. In the middle of my video i have provided camera shots of close-ups and extreme close-up because it captures the idea of cinematography from my perspective. At the end of the video i put in a close up of a poster i saw because it links to the idea of London being the city for peoples futures.

Video feedback/learner response

Teachers response WWW; The use of parallel sound in the video was used very well in the video. The use of sound cuts and fades were well organised. EBI; The random dialogue scene was not needed and there was no contrapuntal sound in there or if there was it wasn't clear. 2) Type up your feedback from fellow students.  One student; Anosha's WWW; would be the song choice chosen fitted well with the creepy affect at the start. EBI; It was a little confusing with the multiple clips.  Another student; Anosha's WWW; would be the good use of parallel sound in the beginning and end of the video. EBI; It could've used contrapuntal sound in the video. Another student; Anosha's WWW; would be the added sound at the beginning worked well with the video and concept.  EBI; The scene in the middle made no sense with the concept of parallel or contrapuntal. Another student; Anosha's WWW; would be the clips used are suitable for the sound. E
