Video feedback/learner response
Teachers response
WWW; The use of parallel sound in the video was used very well in the video. The use of sound cuts and fades were well organised.
EBI; The random dialogue scene was not needed and there was no contrapuntal sound in there or if there was it wasn't clear.
2) Type up your feedback from fellow students.
One student; Anosha's WWW; would be the song choice chosen fitted well with the creepy affect at the start. EBI; It was a little confusing with the multiple clips.
Another student; Anosha's WWW; would be the good use of parallel sound in the beginning and end of the video.
EBI; It could've used contrapuntal sound in the video.
Another student; Anosha's WWW; would be the added sound at the beginning worked well with the video and concept.
EBI; The scene in the middle made no sense with the concept of parallel or contrapuntal.
Another student; Anosha's WWW; would be the clips used are suitable for the sound.
EBI; the sound levels were very different some were too high and other clips sound were too low.
Another student; Anosha's WWW; would be great song choice used.
EBI; should have a better fade between the dialogue scene and other scenes.
Another student; Anosha's WWW; would be the matching the visuals with sound was good.
EBI; The sound levels need some improving and the drastic start needed a slow entrance.
3) Now read and reflect on your work and write your own comments. Add three WWWs and three EBIs underneath the rest of your feedback.
The three good feedback i would have for my own video would be the clips i used were well connected to the sound. Another would be the fade at the end to show the end of the video was good. The third would be the visualising of the sound at the end was very quick but worth it as it the parallel linked well.
however, three EBI's i would have for my video would to be change the sound levels to fit it evenly. Another would be to plan ahead instead of leaving the work to the last minute. The third would be use contrapuntal sound in the video as i was supposed to and read instructions next time.
4) Learner response: compare your own video against your evaluation of the top three videos in the class. Whose did you think was best and why? How could you have improved your own video?
In my opinion the first would be Bell's video as the use of parallel and contrapuntal fitted well in her video.
The second would be Aashwin as his video provided simple but well adjusted use of contrapuntal.
The third would be Fadima's as her video was well organised and looked well planned and used great use of fades and parallel.
5) Finally, what have you learned about the importance of sound to film and TV through this week's work?
personally, yes i have understood the importance of sound in film as it expands the audiences emotions towards a certain scene and gives it more depth into what the director is trying to tell.
