Music video pre-production (Mise-en-scene plan)

 

Setting - 

The first location will be a long-shot of the woods in Perivale Park.

The second location will be Fai and Ari (actors) walking through the woods.

The third location will be Fai just looking at the lake.

The fourth location would be Fai and Ari finding a different location due to the weather.

The fifth location would be the treehouse near Perivale Park.

- Scene of Fai lip-syncing.

The sixth location would a flashback of Fai getting ready to get into the shower.

The seventh location would Ari watching Fai through a camera in an office type environment. 

The seventh location would the empty park which Ari and Fai go into as they hear a scream.

The eighth location will be Fai running from Ari as he chases him.

The tenth location would be Fai waking up and it being a dream.


MakeUp - 

Only one scene in my music video would need make-up or special effects applied, and this scene would require Fai being chased, and then he falls which leads to him bleeds. Then I will need fake blood and then Ari (villain) looks down at Fai and takes a stick and hits Fai unconscious which then I will need more fake blood and a bruise. 


Lighting - 

My music video will be set and shot during the evening and night time as this fits with my music video's theme and genre of a thriller with elements of horror. 

This means I will use torches when shooting in the dark and LED lights in some scenes such as the treehouse scene. 

I will also use natural light as even though it is gloomy and rainy the lightning fits with my music video's aesthetic.   


Actors - 

The actors in my music video will be limited as the narrative is based around two best friends going on a camping trip. This means that the two male actors will be played by; 

- Fai (Tall Asian guy wearing khaki trousers and has a well-groomed bread as well as weaning a beanie/hat).

- Ari ( Tall middle eastern guy wearing white cargo trousers and a black hoodie with a character from cat in the hat, not wearing a beanie)

These two would normally be together in many scenes however in some scenes they part ways and we focus on the protagonist (Fai) trying to figure out what is bothering him as he feels watched.    


Costume - 

The costume for my music video would be but with the 80's casual wear for young people as this can be seen through the iconography of the khaki trousers, waist bag, and headbands. This would be shown through the actors and other props in the music video. 

Most scenes would have the actors in the same casual clothes throughout the music video as this narrative would be seen to have continuity until he wakes up in his room as it is all a dream.  

However, in the park chase scene, Ari would be wearing the scream mask which can be seen as intertextuality from the other horror/thriller franchise before taking it off and revealing his identity. 


Props - 

The props I will be using in the music video would link it to the 80's theme of thriller and pop mixed into it so the props will be limited. This means that the props in the music video will contain;

  • Torches
  • Old newspapers
  • Fake blood
  • A wooden stick
  • A blanket 
  • A body bag 
  • A scream mask.
  • A tattoo on Ari's left hand.

  My music video will be based on the song "Somebody's watching me" by the artist Rockwell. The genre for this song would be a hybrid between Pop/Rock. Film poster analysis 2

UZAK The iconography  from the film poster suggests that the story could be about a man searching for  Something this could be literal or a inner invocation in his life that will change the way he thinks  Or acts. The setting is of an industrial and rural area which could imply his loneliness or how he feels the world treats him. The long shot could imply the mystery as we can't really see his facial expressions which could mean the protagonist doesn't really understand or believes he's going unnoticed. The weather on this film poster could also play a big part in the story line as it could be about a wealthy man feeling rich but feeling fulfilled. This part of his town makes him feel "normal" and at ease with his truest self. However, this could also be about a lower class man this could be because his clothes are very dark and has connotations of less wealth. Film Industry: BBFC film regulation

1) Research the  BBFC  in more detail: what is the institution responsible for? How is it funded? What link does it have to government? The BBFC is responsible for rating movies as to which is appropriate for which age groups. The have a link to the government as a member of House of Lords, Lord Patel is their vice president. They are funded through charged fees which means that film distributors will pay to have their work rated. However, the BBFC is a non-governmental body which means they are independent body.  2) Read this  BBFC guide to how films are rated . Summarise the process in 50 words. Films are rated through terms two this means that the controversial or extreme content is seen in these two teams.
