Music video pre-production (MV treatment)

My music video will be based on the song "Somebody's watching me" by the artist Rockwell. The genre for this song would be a hybrid between Pop/Rock. The genre for this music video will be around Thriller and suspense.

The concept for my music video will be based around two male friends who go on a camping trip which turns out to be a set-up as Ari (one of the protagonists) is the stalker and has been spying on his best friend for some time now and is plotting to get "rid" of him. This turns out to be a dream however it is set up to make it seem like an intuitional dream to show that his friend is actually spying on him.

Scene 1:

Settings - The woods (Perivale Park)

In scene one we will be introduced to the protagonists Fai (the victim) and Ari (the stalker). The first scene will be a pan of the setting which is the woods as we see them both walking near the lake to find a spot to put up the tent. This means that the audience from the start will relaise something is going to happen due to pathric fallacy as the weather is cold and gloomy. The subtitles will read Fai stating he feels odd as if something isn't right. The camera shots will reflect as there will be many over-the-shoulder shots to connote that one of them is hiding something.

Scene 2:

Setting - The Treehouse

In scene two we will be introduced to the second setting which will be a treehouse located in Perivale woods. This continues the narrative as they had moved there because the rain was affecting their tent so they walked together through the woods to find this treehouse. This is where they will settle for the night however, Ari already knew of this location and had set up a camera beforehand but was surprised when they had first found it together.

Scene 3:

Setting - The empty office with cameras

In this scene, Fai and Ari both settle down in the treehouse and get ready to go to sleep. They light up the candles they have stored and go to bed. This is when Ari gets up and turns on the camera and heads out. The scene will then shift to Ari watching Fai sleep in an empty room with cameras from different directions which will then be watched by the audience watching Ari watch Fai sleep.

Scene 4:

Setting - The empty park

In this scene, Fai wakes up in the middle of the night to Ari gone from his sleeping area and to a screaming coming from the distant. He goes to explore that noise in hopes of finding Ari too however he is met with a fate of an empty park he walks into with an eerie vibe. He has his touch with him and points to a moving swings as he turns to the camera and lip-syncs the chorus "I always feel like somebody's watching me" and then he points his touch towards a masked person also in the park, it was Ari.

Scene 5:

Setting - The forset (Running scene)

In this scene Fai starts to run as soon as he sees the masked figure (Ari) watching him from the distance but when the torch hits his face he starts to run and so does Fai. Upon running Fai trips over a stick and hurts himself but then the masked figure (Ari) catches up to him and is now standing over him. They are going through a struggle but then Fai grips onto a stick and hits the maksed figure (Ari) with it to which he takes his mask off and they have a moment as Fai looks terrified. He lucky slips from Ari's grip and starts to run towards the treehouse to grab his stuff and go.

Scene 6:

Setting - Fai's actual house

In this scene Fai runs to the treehouse and Ari is right behind him as he picks himself up from being hit across the head with a stick. As Fai enters the treehouse he grabs his stuff as fast as he can and jumps into the toilet so he can hide until Ari goes somewhere else. However, Ari catches up and they get into another sruffle to which Ari pushes Fai and he drops to the floor. Then Fai wakes up in his room with Ari next to him sleeping on the floor and he finds out its just a dream. However, there is mud on Ari's trousers to suggest it wasnt and we are left with Ari turning on his phone with footage of Fai's room with him standing in it and then he looks up and smiles.

The end.
