2) Read the mark scheme for this assessment carefully. Write down the number of marks you achieved for the three questions:
Question 1 - 2 marks.
Question 2 - 5 Marks
Question 3 - 3 marks
Social-realist films help micro budget films like chicken reach a wider audience and document important aspects of British life that rarely feature in bigger-budget films aimed at commercial success, social-realist films take on issues of social class and politics, addressing important issues that would not feature in commercially-driven or Hollywood-funded productions.
3) For Question 2 on the promotion of Chicken, use the mark scheme to identify at least one strategy used to promote Chicken.
One strategy would be gorilla marketing and Social media such as Facebook and twitter help promote films to a wider audience as it can easily be recognised, shared and retweeted to a wider society which then can be used to gain more attraction as the idea of promoting the film would be different.
4) Now look at Question 3. Using the mark scheme as a guide, write a paragraph arguing that it is NOT important for the British film industry to make social-realist films like Chicken
As social realist films aim on addressing important issues it can struggle to make it out in the media. Many viewers wouldn't normally associate with the films as it not what they are usually comfortable with. They can are also not guaranteed to make profit due to the aim of their film.
5) Finally, cover the other side of the debate. Write a paragraph arguing that it IS important for the British film industry to make social-realist films like Chicken .
However it is important for Social-realist films like chicken to be produced as it focuses on important aspects of society and sends a strong message to many. It draw attention to the real socio-political conditions of the working class. Considering Chicken was a micro-budget film, British film industry has still published low budget films such as bend it like Beckham which has resulted in amazing recognition reaching to a wider audienc
